~ Impromptu ~

Rather unexpectedly a comparison drawn

With one so revered I balked

Flattered and intimidated in equal measure

I thanked thee

And stuttered how my old man

Adored the great man’s treatment of Scarlatti

Little did i know it was the great man himself

Who descended on my humble debut

How i wish I had known

And had the bragging rights of the best seat underneath the piano

No matter, for the rest of my life

Thou shall make up for lost time

With splendid birthday performances

that dazzle the whole wide world.
